Trip to the Moon

If I was watching that movie the time it was first released, I would be impressed. Even though the equipment for film making wasn't so complete and competent, they were able to make a movie out of them. The movie wasn't that great, short, it had ugly effects, and the science in it was really bad but the way the film was made was really acceptable if all things are considered. The creativity and the idea itself of the film were quite good.
If I lived during the time the movie was released, it would've probably been the first movie I've ever watched so I think I would've been amazed and confused at the same time. Movies or moving pictures weren't famous back then and it was pretty rare for people to watch them. I think I would've found it incredible to see moving pictures even if they were black and white and had no sounds.
Overall, I think the movie would've been a lot better if it was the first movie I’ve ever seen. Now that I’ve seen movies in HD with great sounds and effects, I would think it was an amateur film and that it doesn’t compare to all the other Hollywood movies.
I get bored easily so if the movie’s sounds are just background songs I wouldn’t be interested and also if the movie was all black and white, I wouldn’t like it. Unless the story is really good then both would be okay. But with the case of “Trip to the Moon” I didn’t like the story because of the science in it, it was good that it wasn’t very long because it would’ve been boring and tiring to watch.

I appreciate the effort of the people who made the movie because I know it was close to impossible back then when they started making it. I think the people had patience and worked really hard. It was a good “first ever movie” released.

A film like "Trip to the Moon" is a breakthrough in the film industry. From a black and white, they have produced colored films which is very unusual during those times. Having boxes that contain humans are great invention, then now from black and white, they have manage to put colors on it. who knows that maybe someday, they may add audio in the next few years in their arts. In those times, it was a really great improvement.

The wonders of undiscovered things remain problematic. Their depiction of the moon and how to go there is limited with what knowledge is available and their experiences. What are the things that exist there are very similar with what are the things that exist on Earth with some modifications because of imaginative minds.

If I were in that date, it is a really entertaining film but not that good reference of reality (since we are all aware of it now). But it also reflects how people from the past think of the moon and the unexplainable things around them.

If “All the Time” were adopted and it would happen in the present setting, Atomic Bomb will probably out and World War III is not likely to occur. Instead we may experience major and numerous earthquakes, since it is unpredictable and no device is yet invented to determine when or where a possible earthquake may occur. We are not certain nowadays, after the unexpected tragedy in Bohol. What if it is not only a town or a province, what if it is as vague as the world?

I wouldn't be surprise if many poorly constructed infrastructures of corrupt politician will collapse. Then, if I were the only one alive, I'll find a safe place with stable food. But if I don't find one, I could build one. I don't have to worry or hurry because I have ALL THE TIME anyway.

If in the original story, the guy only wants to READ, maybe I could also start to WRITE a book. A book about what happen, what is happening, and what will I want to happen in the future. I want my works to be a reference of future people. A book that will definitely be significant to historians or other survivors in different part of the world. I want them to give access to this time which will be part of their past.

Paper to Silicon

"Time Enough at Last"

Now that the monopoly of nuclear weapons is a thing of the past, testing weapons of mass destruction is in a worldwide spread. More and more countries develop and advance their own military force to provide an arsenal of genocidal technology. ‘Twilight Zone’ might be successful in sending its message during its time but not in this more advanced and information-based society.
I could not understand the context of the episode unless our professor didn't say so or Google didn’t feed me the information. The story revolves around militarization and anti-intellectualism. Development of technology is a taboo during the post-war America; in this case, the tools close to gaining knowledge are the books and newspaper. To this day, most of us would not bother searching for a book that is not even in its proper shelf in the library or search for a newspaper that only talks about lives of people we don’t even care about. The trend now is data in a silicon chip.

If I would do a remake of the movie, I would set it up around a teenager’s life: a teenager who knows how to repair gadgets, build computer, and create software of his own, all learnt by just watching YouTube videos. A life surrounded by computers, gadgets and many other electronic devices connected to an invisible web of information, wherever he wants it, whenever he wants it. Except that, the people around him see it as a hindrance for their personal relationships and he is also constantly being snatched away from his precious silicon friends. Then, the unexpected happens. Everybody is gone, left with the scrapped wires, unlimited computer parts and TIME: no school, no parents, just all the things he wanted before. Soon, he will realize there’s no electricity. Power plants are damaged. With this version of the Twilight Zone’s episode, they will realize how important to not support nuclear technology and promote also the knowledge accumulation to further develop one’s potential.

Some things are kept certain.

Futurama foresee that the future will be very hi-tech and all aspect of life are dependent on technology. They impose peace and order through strict implementation of the use of technology even on the personal aspect of the life of their citizen. With a single chip implanted on everyone, it already declared their identity, their career, and their personal being for the rest f their life. Technology already took their right as human, even their freedom as well.

A delivery boy accidentally timed travelled from the past to the future. At first he was hoping to have a better life now than he is in the past. But he was disappointed to know that his faith was no differ with what he has (to be a delivery boy). With the help of his friends they use a ship to escape. Now, he was assign to be the delivery boy of the ship.

Even the guy timed travelled, some things was keep certain in his life whatever timezone or dimension it may be. He timed travelled via being frozen in a cryonic tube, then defrosted from it a thousand years later.

Bookworm Saves the Day!

The first episode of The Twilight Zone “Enough Time at Last” became really famous when it aired. It is the story of Mr. Henry Bemis who was a reading enthusiast but then his boss and even his wife, Mrs. Helen Bemis prevent him from doing his interest. Even time wasn’t on his side at all. But later on, he would be free of all those hindrances. He would be alone, all alone.

If I would make an adaptation of the story, I would preserve all the elements of the story but I’ll change the flow of the story. Instead of a nuclear war, a war about territory dispute will be substituted. What happens on that war was really chaos and no one knows that the leader of the other country based it on a novel he loves so much. He does such terrible things to imitate the plot of his favorite novel. And accidentally, Mr. Henry Bemis will somehow discover the leader of the enemy’s tactics because he read that novel too. While his country was suffering from the wrath (and passion of the leader for his favorite novel), he will seek help from the government, but the government will reject him. After a while, his country keeps losing and the government has no choice but to believe Mr. Bemis’ story. Since they know already what would happen, they’re able to counteract the enemy’s attack and defeat them. In the end, Mr. Henry Bemis would be recognized and awarded across the world, and most of all, he would be given the freedom to read. He would get all the time in this world.  Everyone would admire his passion and everyone would be thankful for there’s a Mr. Henry Bemis who really loves reading.

Reading is a really great weapon. And that’s what I want to emphasize in my version. Without the passion and hunger for knowledge, there would be no science and technology. And without science and technology, what would be our life now?

"Trip to the Moon"

For the first moving pictures I have seen, “Trip to the Moon” opens tons of questions in my mind. Will we be able to fly to the moon? Or maybe even out there in the vast space? Will there be other life forms other than us? New species of floras and faunas? Will we be able to walk or breathe on that white sphere in the sky? Although I know some of it is just an exaggeration of the filmmaker’s playful mind, wouldn't it be nice to explore the world out there? Beyond the comical and theatrical value of the picture, the movie gives the impression of our society to what we think may be possible when we make our technology more advanced. With the development and rapid shoot of new mechanisms and discoveries left and right, no sooner can we go where someone hasn't gone before, to explore the universe.

The film encourages me to conspire with its ideas. I already read books which the film may have gotten some of its ideas and work of fiction but it’s entirely different. It gives me a clearer picture of what's happening and how other imagine the looks of the strange creatures in those books. Although the speech is not present, it makes me compare what I have imagined by my own, added with the theatrical value of the production. It reviews my experience with the books. I could now chronologically tell what may happen in all those out-of-this-world stories. Although I heard, it’s scientifically inaccurate as criticized by the astrophysics authority. As I think of the possibility of it being real soon, it still makes me want to book for one ticket, please.
